Jud "Fabio" Birza Wins "Survivor: Nicaragua"

On tonight's "Survivor: Nicaragua" season finale 21 year old student Jud Birza aka "Fabio" became the youngest winner in "Survivor" history. The finale began with the first Immunity Challenge, which consisted of answering questions about Nicaragua and then completing a puzzle of this season's logo. Fabio made a come from behind victory, earning him immunity and a place in the final four. At tribal council Dan was unanimously voted out, making him the eighth jury member. The next day the final four competed in the last Immunity Challenge, which was balancing different sized coins on the handle of a sword. Once again Fabio took the win, guaranteeing himself a spot in the final and forcing the alliance of three to turn on themselves. At tribal council they did just that and voted out Holly, making her the final jury member. On Day 39 the final three made their way to the last tribal council, where the jury of nine grilled them before they made their decision. After the votes were cast, we joined Jeff live in Los Angeles for the final vote reading. By a vote of 5-4 Fabio beat Chase to become the sole Survivor. Unsurprisingly Sash didn't receive one vote. The results match perfectly with the boot list I posted 3 months ago.

What did you think of the finale? Did Fabio deserve to win or was Chase robbed? Leave a comment and share your thoughts!

Jane Bright Voted Off "Survivor: Nicaragua"

On tonight's "Survivor: Nicaragua" 56 year old dog trainer Jane Bright became the fifteenth castaway voted off the show. The episode began with the Reward Challenge, where the final six contestants were reunited with their loved ones. The challenge involved running into a pool and retrieving two bags of puzzle pieces with the loved one using the pieces to solve the puzzle. Chase and his mom won the challenge and were awarded with a trip on a sailboat along the Nicaraguan coast. Chase was allowed to pick two other castaways and their loved ones to go with him and he chose Sash and Holly. That upset Fabio, who Chase previously told he would pick. On the reward Chase, Holly and Sash reiterated that they would take each other to the final three. The next day the castaways competed in the Immunity Challenge, which consisted of blindly going through an obstacle course to a shield with symbols on it. The castaways had to feel the symbols and memorize their placement so they could replicate them on a blank shield. Fabio won the challenge, messing up Chase, Sash and Holly's plan to get rid of him. Back at camp, talk turned to getting rid of Jane since she had the best chance of winning if she made it to the final three. When Jane approached her alliance about this plan they initially hesitated but then finally admitted they were discussing the idea. Jane decided to go out with a bang and dumped a bucket of water on their campfire. At tribal council Chase and Sash played their hidden immunity idols since it was their last chance to do so. It didn't matter though, because Jane was unanimously voted out and became the seventh jury member.

Nat Strand & Kat Chang Win "Amazing Race 17"

On tonight's "Amazing Race 17" friends/doctors Nat Strand and Kat Chang made history by becoming the first all-female team to win "The Amazing Race". The episode began with the final three teams flying from Seoul, South Korea to the final destination city of Los Angeles. When they arrived they made their way to the Port of Long Beach where they had to tandem bungee jump off a pier. Once both teammates jumped they were taken via helicopter to the Rose Bowl where a Roadblock awaited. One team member had to decorate three sections of a float for the Tournament of Roses parade. When the task was completed the Rose Queen gave them their next clue, which was a riddle the teams had to solve to figure out their next destination. When the teams decoded the riddle they learned their next stop was Quixote Studios where their final challenge awaited. The duos had to correctly identify and order the eleven greeters they met at each Pit Stop. When they completed the task legendary game show host Bob Eubanks gave them their last clue, which instructed them to the Finish Line at Greystone Mansion. Nat and Kat where the first team to cross the Finish Line and won the $1 million prize. Brook and Claire arrived second, followed much later by Jill and Thomas. At the end of the episode they showed a teaser for next season's "Amazing Race" where eleven of your favorite teams will return to race again. To find out which teams will be back read my post here!

Benry Voted Off "Survivor: Nicaragua"

On tonight's "Survivor: Nicaragua" 24 year old club promoter Ben "Benry" Henry became the fourteenth castaway voted off the show. The episode began with the Reward Challenge, which was a combination of many previous challenges. After three rounds Chase emerged the winner and was awarded with an overnight trip to a private resort. He was allowed to pick two people to go with him and he chose Holly and Jane. At the reward Chase, Holly and Jane decided they would approach Sash about joining their alliance and getting rid of the other alliance of Fabio, Benry and Dan. The next day the castaways competed in the Immunity Challenge, which consisted of unspooling a long rope, retrieving a bag of puzzle pieces and then assembling a puzzle. The challenge came down to Sash, Benry and Fabio with Sash ultimately pulling out a win. At tribal council Sash decided to join the Chase-Holly-Jane alliance and the four of them voted out Benry, making him the sixth member of the jury.

"Dating Couple" Nick DeCarlo & Vicki Casciola Eliminated from "The Amazing Race 17"

On tonight's "Amazing Race 17" dating couple Nick DeCarlo and Vicki Casciola became the eighth team eliminated from the race. The episode began with the teams flying from Hong Kong, China to Seoul, South Korea. Nick and Vicki's six hour penalty caused them to miss the first departing flight that contained the other three teams. They then had to wait nine more hours before another flight departed for Seoul. When the teams landed they made their way to Seung-il Bridge where they were instructed to whitewater raft down a river and then take a Humvee to a military base. At the base they found a Roadblock, which required one team member to search amongst 200 soldiers for one that was wearing a headband that matched the one they were given. When the task was completed the teams traveled to the Seoul World Cup Stadium where a Detour awaited them. The choice of tasks was between skating 25 laps around a rink or transporting six glass bottles of ginseng tonic to a store and then drinking a glass of the tonic. All the teams chose the skating task and completed it with little trouble. The teams were then instructed to find an airplane in a park before they made their way to the Pit Stop. Brook and Claire were the first team to get to the Pit Stop but were given a 30 minute penalty for taking a cab to the ice rink when they were explicitly told to take the subway. That allowed Jill and Thomas to check in first and they were awarded with a trip for two to Argentina. Nick and Vicki were never able to overcome their huge time gap and were unsurprisingly eliminated from the race.

Here's this week's Elimination Station...

NaOnka and Kelly S. Quit "Survivor: Nicaragua"

On tonight's "Survivor: Nicaragua" history was made when, for the first time ever, two castaways - NaOnka Mixon and Kelly "Purple" Shinn - quit the game with only ten days to go. The episode began with a big rainstorm that made NaOnka and Kelly Purple contemplate quitting the game. NaOnka was so positive she was leaving she even gave Chase her hidden immunity idol. The next day the tribe competed in the Reward Challenge, which consisted of dragging a huge 8 foot long stuffed dummy through an obstacle course. The team of Chase, Benry, NaOnka and Holly won the challenge with Dan winning too, as he correctly predicted that team would win. The prize was an advance screening of the upcoming "Gulliver's Travels" movie with hot dogs, nachos, popcorn and candy. Before the tribe left the challenge NaOnka and Kelly Purple informed Jeff that they wanted to quit the game. Jeff told them to think about their decision and give a definitive answer that night at tribal council. He also offered a tarp and a can of rice if one of the winning team members would forfeit the reward. After no one volunteered, including NaOnka, Holly stepped up and accepted the offer. The other winning tribemates then went off to enjoy their movie, while back at camp Holly tried to convince NaOnka and Kelly to stay. However, it was all in vain as the girls ended up quitting at tribal council, much to Jeff's dismay.

"Dating Couple" Nick and Vicki Avoid Elimination on "The Amazing Race 17"

On tonight's "Amazing Race 17" dating couple Nick DeCarlo and Vicki Casciola avoided elimination despite arriving last on this leg's Pit Stop. The episode began with the final four teams flying from Dhaka, Bangladesh to Hong Kong, China. When they arrived they were instructed to take a ferry to Cheung Chau island where their next clue awaited. Nick and Vicki missed the first ferry and fell 30 minutes behind the other teams. The next clue instructed the teams to Majesty Chinese restaurant where a Roadblock awaited. One teammate had to search among several plates of food for one of five pieces of fake food. If the team member picked a piece of real food they had to eat that item. When the task was completed teams made their way to the Avenue of Stars and had to find a Bruce Lee statue. When they found it they also found a Detour. The choice of tasks was between riding a tram and looking for three signs that revealed the location of the Pit Stop or delivering two parakeets in a birdcage to a boat whose registration number matched the number on the birdcage. Nat and Kat were the first team to complete all the tasks and made it to the Pit Stop first, awarding them a trip for two to Brazil. Nick and Vicki had trouble with all the tasks and finally gave up during the Detour, which earned them a six hour penalty. However, they were spared elimination since this was the last non-elimination leg of the season.

Jennifer Grey Wins "Dancing with the Stars 11"

On tonight's 2 hour "Dancing with the Stars" season finale Jennifer Grey beat Kyle Massey and Bristol Palin to be crowned the eleventh season champion. Yesterday the final three performed two dances each - a redemption dance and a freestyle dance. Tonight they performed two more dances - their season favorite and an Instant team cha cha. After all four dances Jennifer Grey landed at the top of the judge's leaderboard with 118 points, followed by Kyle Massey with 110 points. Bristol Palin placed third with 104 points. After some performances by returning celebs such as David Hasselhoff, it was revealed that Bristol came in third when the viewer votes were added. Tom then announced that, unsurprisingly, Jennifer Grey beat Kyle Massey and was crowned the winner of season eleven.

"Engaged Couple" Chad and Stephanie Eliminated from "The Amazing Race 17"

On tonight's "Amazing Race 17" engaged couple Chad Waltrip and Stephanie Smith became the seventh team eliminated from the race. The episode began with the five remaining teams flying from Muscat, Oman to Dhaka, Bangladesh. Brook & Claire, Nat & Kat and Chad & Stephanie booked flights that arrived in Bangladesh the next day at noon. However, Nick & Vicki and Jill & Thomas found earlier flights that arrived at 8:40am and 5:00am, respectively. When the teams landed they made their way to a market where they had to press sugarcane into juice and then drink a glass of it before they could start the Detour. The Detour task was a choice between transporting 30 canned lunches to a large boat in the harbor or carrying 100 unbroken bricks in a basket on your head to a local market. When the task was completed the teams faced the first ever Double U-Turn, where two teams could make two other teams backtrack and complete the other Detour task. Jill & Thomas u-turned Brook & Claire, while Nat & Kat u-turned Chad & Stephanie. The last task was a Roadblock, where one teammate had to correctly assemble a cycle rickshaw. Jill & Thomas were the first team to complete all the tasks and made it to the Pit Stop first, earning them $15,000. The two u-turned teams were obviously at the bottom of the pack, but Brook & Claire were able to dig deep and edged past Chad & Stephanie to avoid elimination. The same couldn't be said for the engaged couple who arrived last and were eliminated from the race.

Brenda Lowe Voted Off "Survivor: Nicaragua"

On tonight's "Survivor: Nicaragua" 27 year old paddleboard company owner Brenda Lowe became the eleventh castaway voted off the show. The episode began with the Reward Challenge, where the castaways were split into two teams of five and had to use just four barrels and some planks of wood to get themselves across a course without touching the ground. Chase's team easily won the challenge and were awarded with a helicopter ride to a volcano, where pizza and brownies awaited them. Meanwhile, the losing team made their way back to camp and were shocked to see that many of their supplies and food were destroyed because they stupidly put wooden crates too close to the fire. The next day the castaways competed in the Immunity Challenge, which consisted of holding onto a rope for as long as possible. The challenge came down to Jane and Chase, with Jane ultimately outlasting Chase and winning immunity. Back at camp it became clear that the majority of the castaways wanted to get rid of Brenda, including her former ally NaOnka. Only Chase, Sash and Kelly Purple wanted to stick with the original plan and vote off Benry. At tribal council only Kelly Purple stayed true to Brenda while the rest of the tribe voted her off, making her the third member of the jury.

"Father & Daughter" Gary and Mallory Ervin Eliminated from "The Amazing Race 17"

On tonight's "Amazing Race 17" father/daughter duo Gary and Mallory Ervin became the sixth team eliminated from the race. The episode began with all the teams departing the Pit Stop in Russia, except for Chad and Stephanie who overslept and left a full two hours after their scheduled departure. However, they were able to catch up when they booked a flight to Oman that contained many of the other teams. When the teams landed they made their way to the Portuguese Watchtower where they had to wait til morning when it opened. During the wait Chad decided to propose to Stephanie and she accepted. When the tower opened the teams found a Roadblock, which required one teammate to rappel 500 feet down the side of a mountain and then search for a ring amongst hundreds of oil lamps. To complete the Roadblock the teams first had to drive to the mountain, during which Nat and Kat & Gary and Mallory got lost causing them to fall way behind. After the Roadblock teams made their way to a sculpture of a stack of books where a Detour awaited them. The choice of tasks was between pumping water into a truck and delivering the water to a designated house or purchasing 25 chickens and other foods at a local market and serving a traditional wedding soup. All six teams chose the water task with Jill and Thomas & Chad and Stephanie duking it out for first. After the Detour the teams were instructed to a market where they had to locate Ali Baba and give him some frankincense. Jill and Thomas were the first team to complete all the tasks and made it to the Pit Stop first, however they were given a 30 minute penalty for having a cab driver lead them to a destination. That allowed Chad and Stephanie to check in first and Phil awarded them with a trip for two to Belize. Gary and Mallory's bad luck continued all the way to the Pit Stop as they came in last and were eliminated from the race.

Marty Piombo Voted Off "Survivor: Nicaragua"

On tonight's "Survivor: Nicaragua" 48 year old technology executive Marty Piombo became the tenth castaway voted off the show. The episode began with the Reward Challenge, where the eleven castaways were randomly split into two teams of five, with Chase as the odd man out. Surprisingly, the castaways were split men vs. women which left the women with a noticeable disadvantage since the challenge was an obstacle course. However, Chase still decided to back the women which turned out to be the wrong decision as the men won the challenge. The guys' reward was zip-lining across the jungle canopy followed by a barbecue feast. During the reward Marty approached the other guys about a plan to get NaOnka to use her hidden immunity idol and blindside Jane. The next day the castaways competed in the Immunity Challenge, which consisted of memorizing a series of symbols and repeating them back. The challenge came down to Marty & Brenda, with Brenda ultimately pulling out a win. Back at camp, it became evident that either Marty or Jane would be going home, with Brenda and Sash as the swing votes. At tribal council they decided to keep Jane and Marty was voted out 7-4.

Once again, Brandy and Jennifer Grey tied for first place on the judge's leaderboard with 57s out of 60. Bristol Palin unsurprisingly landed at the bottom of the pack with a 47. However, when the viewer votes were added it was Kurt Warner who was sent home. Next week the final four perform two more dances for a spot in the finals!

"Father & Son" Michael and Kevin Wu Eliminated from "The Amazing Race 17"

On tonight's "Amazing Race 17" father/son duo Michael and Kevin Wu became the fifth team eliminated from the race. The episode began with the seven remaining teams continuing to race in Saint Petersburg, Russia where their first task was a Detour. The choice of tasks was between learning and performing a Russian folk song on the accordion or getting ten plates to spin for ten seconds straight without falling. Jill and Thomas had trouble with the plate task, switched to the accordion task and then switched back to the plates, causing them to drop to the bottom of the pack. When the task was completed the teams were instructed to a bridge guarded by four creatures with golden wings. The clue explicitly stated not to have a cab driver guide you to the bridge, but Michael and Kevin didn't see that and had a cabbie help them. The teams next clue instructed them to a tower where they would search for their next destination. Again Michael and Kevin misread the clue and took a cab to the tower, as did Chad and Stephanie. The teams next stop was a famous church where they found a clue instructing them to locate the burial site of Peter the Great. When the teams found the site they also found this leg's Roadblock. One team member had to play a bowling-like game called Gorodki and clear three pin formations in just two tries each. Nat and Kat were again the first team to complete all the tasks and made it to the Pit Stop first, earning them $5,000 each. Michael and Kevin came in sixth but were given two 30 minute penalties for breaking the rules. Chad and Stephanie arrived last and were given one 30 minute penalty. The Wu's hour long penalty was enough to seal their fate and they were eliminated from the race.

On tonight's "Survivor: Nicaragua" 23 year old art student Alina Wilson became the ninth castaway voted off the show. The episode began with the Espada and La Flor tribes learning that it was time for the merge. When all the castaways met up at Espada's camp they unlocked a chest filled with food and new tribe buffs. Later that day NaOnka took the flour and some pots and pans and hid them in the jungle. When the other castaways confronted her about it she vehemently denied stealing the items. Eventually she told the truth after Chase and Alina convinced her to. The next day the castaways competed in the first individual Immunity Challenge, where Jeff informed them that one man and one woman would win immunity. The challenge consisted of keeping tension on a metal bar using two metal handles. Jane outlasted the other women, while Fabio beat the other men earning them both individual immunity. Back at camp the castaways debated whether to vote off Marty or Alina, with Jane pushing for Marty and Sash pushing for Alina. At tribal council everyone but Jane decided to get rid of Alina, making her the first member of the jury.

On tonight's "Amazing Race 17" dating couple Nick DeCarlo and Vicki Casciola avoided elimination despite arriving last on this leg's Pit Stop. The episode began with the seven remaining teams flying from Narvik, Norway to Saint Petersburg, Russia where a Detour awaited. The choice of tasks was between identifying three unique music compositions in a hall full of pianists playing various songs or searching through hundreds of filmstrips for the one that matched the movie playing on the screen. Many teams switched from the music task to the film task after having no luck identifying the correct songs. When the teams completed the Detour they headed to Palace Square, where their next clue instructed them to a neighborhood store and a Roadblock. One team member had to dress up as a babushka, find a wheelbarrow and then plant 50 potatoes using dirt and cow manure. Jill and Thomas were the first team to complete the task and made it to the Pit Stop first, earning them a trip for two to Sao Paolo, Brazil. Nick & Vicki fell way behind and arrived at the Pit Stop last, but were only given a Speed Bump since it was a non-elimination leg.

After their reward the tribes met up again for the Immunity Challenge, which had the castaways aiming a large chute toward various targets and rolling balls down the chute to hit the targets. Espada again defeated La Flor, winning them immunity and sending La Flor to tribal council. Back at camp, Sash approached Marty with a deal to keep Marty in the game. Sash offered Marty safety in exchange for Marty's hidden immunity idol. He even promised to give Marty his idol back after tribal council. Reluctantly, Marty accepted the deal and gave Sash his idol. When that task was completed the teams were instructed to Harvika where a Detour awaited them. The choice of tasks was between riding a bike along a dangerous course and memorizing a code to unlock a lock or navigating a boat to a specific location and delivering two fish and a chainsaw to a lodge. Kelly Bruno and Yve Rojas Both Voted Off "Survivor: Nicaragua" in Double Elimination

On tonight's "Survivor: Nicaragua" 26 year old medical student Kelly Bruno and 41 year old homemaker Yve Rojas became the sixth and seventh castaways voted off the show. The episode began with the tribes meeting up for the combined Reward/ Immunity Challenge, where Jeff surprised them with the news that both tribes were going to tribal council and two castaways would be voted out. Tribe mates would compete against each other for individual immunity, with the two winners from each tribe battling it out for reward. The first part of the challenge consisted of digging in the dirt with paddles searching for rope rings and then flipping them into a bag on your back. Holly emerged the winner on Espada, while Jill took the win on La Flor. Holly and Jill then faced off in a ring toss challenge for reward, with Jill ultimately winning a feast for La Flor. At Espada's tribal council the vote was split between Marty and Kelly B in the hopes Marty would use his hidden immunity idol. He didn't, forcing a tiebreaker vote where Marty and Kelly B couldn't vote. Everyone but Jane decided to vote out Kelly B, keeping Marty and his idol in the game. Espada was then given their feast and watched La Flor's tribal council, where Yve was unanimously voted out.

On tonight's "Dancing with the Stars 11" results show "Brady Bunch" mom Florence Henderson became the fifth celebrity voted off the show. Yesterday the eight couples performed dances set to classic TV theme songs. For the first time this season Brandy took the the top spot on the judge's leaderboard with a 27 out of 30. Bristol Palin landed at the bottom with only an 18 out of 30. However, when the viewer votes were added it was Florence Henderson who ended up going home. Next week the remaining seven stars will perform rock 'n' roll themed dances and one more contestant will be eliminated.

"A Cappella Singers" Connor and Jonathan Eliminated from "The Amazing Race 17"

On tonight's "Amazing Race 17" Ivy League A Cappella singers Connor Yauman and Jonathan Schwartz became the third team eliminated from the race. The episode began with the remaining nine teams flying from Ghana to Sweden with a layover in Germany. Because of the long trip, all teams were given tickets on the same flight but were not required to use them. Michael & Kevin, Gary & Mallory, Nat & Kat and Brook & Claire found an earlier connecting flight from Germany to Sweden and arrived two hours ahead of the five other teams. When they landed they traveled to the Icehotel where Michael & Kevin's Speed Bump awaited them. The guys had to sit on chairs made of ice for ten minutes before they could continue on the race. The team's next clue instructed them to Fjellborg's Lodge where they faced a Roadblock. One team member had to ride a dog sled through a course, collecting five flags along the way. When they completed the task the teams made their way to a nearby train station where they found a Detour. The choice of tasks was between riding down a mountain on a snowmobile in under a minute and fifty eight seconds or building a traditional Swedish tent called a goahti and furnishing the inside with furs and a fire pit. Nat & Kat were the first team to complete all the tasks and made it to the Pit Stop first, earning them a trip for two to Belize. Jill and Thomas decided to use their Express Pass, skipping the Detour and landing in fifth place. Connor and Jonathan, however, landed at the bottom and were eliminated from the race.

Here's this week's Elimination Station...
