"Bachelor"s Jason & Molly to Marry on ABC

ABC has announced that "Bachelor" couple Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney will have their wedding aired on Monday March 8th at 8pm, one week after Jake's season ends. They are the first "Bachelor" couple to wed. First season "Bachelorette" Trista Rehn and her pick Ryan Sutter married in December 2003 and now have two children. The special will include footage of Malaney's bridal gown fitting, the couple's discussions with their wedding planner and event designers, their bachelor and bachelorette parties, and the actual ceremony at an undisclosed "perfect" location. Former "Bachelor" and "Bachelorette" participants will be among the family and friends at the wedding, according to ABC. I doubt that Melissa Rycroft will be attending.

"The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love" Episode Four Recap: Four Girls Eliminated

On tonight's "Bachelor" Jake went against protocol and eliminated four girls. The episode began with the remaining nine women learning that they would be leaving the "Bachelor" mansion and taking an RV up the California coast. To put it mildly, Ali wasn't thrilled to be in such close quarters with Vienna. Jake met up with the girls and informed Gia that she would be getting the coveted one-on-one date. They spent the evening in a vineyard drinking wine and at the end of the date Jake gave Gia a rose. The next day six women accompanied Jake on a dune buggy riding group date. Some women, like Corrie, came out of their shells a little while others, like Ashleigh, didn't have much chemistry with Jake. At the end of the date Jake gave a rose to Tenley keeping her safe at the rose ceremony. The next day Jake had a two-on-one date with Kathryn and Ella. Although he had feelings for both women he didn't feel a strong enough connection to keep either of them. The other women were shocked when they saw both girl's bags taken away. At the cocktail party Jessie told Jake that she didn't think Vienna was right for him. Later, an emotional Jake started the rose ceremony but stopped when he was down to two roses. He asked Chris whether or not he had to give both roses away, and Chris said to do what his heart tells him. Jake gave his final rose to Vienna, eliminating both Jessie and Ashleigh.

Here's this week's "Diaries of the Departed"...

What do you think of Jake's decision? Does he have a good final five? Leave a comment and share your thoughts! Also, you can read my secret post which spoils who Jake picks here!

"The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love" Episode Three Recap: Three Girls Eliminated

On tonight's third episode of "The Bachelor" Jake eliminated three more women. The episode began with Vienna receiving the first one-on-one date, where Jake surprised her with a helicopter ride followed by bungee jumping. It turned out that Jake was much more scared to jump than Vienna. After they conquered their fears together they had dinner, where Jake gave Vienna the rose. The next day eight of the women went to Jon Lovitz's Comedy Club for a group date. They had to prepare stand up routines to perform in front of Jake and a full audience. After the performance Michelle approached Jake to express her concerns. She felt that maybe she should leave and Jake agreed. He eliminated her right then and there, which oddly seemed to make Michelle sad. He then ended the group date without giving the rose away. The next day Jake picked up Ella for their one-on-one date. He took her to Sea World where he surprised her with a visit from her son. At the end of the day Jake gave Ella a rose, securing her safety at the rose ceremony. At the cocktail party Jake approached Elizabeth because he thought she was sending mixed messages. Elizabeth didn't take it well, insisting he was upset because he couldn't kiss her. Finally, at the rose ceremony Jake sent home Elizabeth and Valisha.

"The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love" Episode Two Recap: Three Girls Eliminated

On Monday's second episode of "The Bachelor" Jake said goodbye to three women: two of his choosing and one booted by the producers. The episode began with the first group date where Jake took six women to Santa Monica for an InStyle magazine photo shoot. Naturally, professional models Rozlyn and Gia embraced the task while others (mainly Christina) felt some trepidation. Later, when the date shifted to the Shangri-La hotel, Christina compensated with her nervousness by drinking a little too much. At the end of the date Jake gave a rose to Rozlyn, securing her position on the show (but not for long). The next day Ali was the lucky recipient of the first one-on-one date. Jake picked her up and surprised her with a flight in his plane to Palm Springs. After dinner they were treated(?) to a performance by the group Chicago. The next day Jake took five more women on another group date, this time to Six Flags amusement park. During the date Elizabeth asked Jake that he not kiss her until the proposal (if she were to be chosen). She also read him a weird, rambling note she wrote expressing her feelings. In spite of all that, Jake ended up giving her the rose, keeping her safe at the rose ceremony. The women then all met up at the cocktail party, where Chris pulled Rozlyn aside to give her the bad news. He told her that because of her "inappropriate relationship" with a staffer she had to go home. He then told Jake and the rest of the women. Finally, the rose ceremony commenced and Jake eliminated Christina & Ashley.

Here's this week's "Diaries of the Departed"...

What do you think of Rozyln's ejection? What about Christina & Ashley? Leave a comment and share your thoughts!

ABC Plans "Bachelor" Spin Off "Bachelor Pad"

ABC has announced plans to air "Bachelor Pad", a spin-off of the "Bachelor" and "Bachelorette" franchise which will feature former contestants living together and competing in various challenges. The seven episode series, hosted by Chris Harrison, will put twenty men and women who appeared on the show in a house together a la "Big Brother". They will compete in a series of challenges and one by one be evicted from the house. "All these people have been friends, been enemies, they date each other and bring all this great backstory to the show" said executive producer Martin Hilton. "It seemed like there was an opportunity to combine that world with a new competitive reality show." No word on which contestants will return, but the show is expected to premiere when "The Bachelorette" ends in July.

Rozlyn Papa Will Be Kicked Off Tonight's "Bachelor: On the Wings of Love"

On tonight's "Bachelor: On the Wings of Love" Rozlyn Papa will be outed as the woman who had the inappropriate relationship with one of the "Bachelor" producers. Thus, she will be booted from the show. Just what kind of "inappropriate" behavior happened between Rozlyn and the producer is up for debate. One theory going around is that producers told Rozlyn not to tell Jake yet that she has a 7 year old son. This upsets her, as does the fact that she was promised she would get to visit her son and ABC reneged. Sensing that Rozlyn was unhappy and may make trouble ABC decided to get rid of her by concocting the "romance with the producer" story. Or it's possible that Rozlyn really did get too close with the producer. We probably will never know what really happened. Anyway, one thing's for sure: Rozlyn's a goner at the end of tonight's episode.

Simon Cowell Leaving "American Idol", Launching US Version of "The X Factor"

Simon Cowell confirmed today what had been rumored for weeks, that he will indeed leave "American Idol" after the upcoming ninth season. But Simon fans don't have to be too upset, as Simon is launching a US version of his hit UK singing competition "The X Factor" which will premiere on FOX in the fall of 2011. "We reached an agreement formally at about half past 10 this morning" said Cowell. "Where we have come to is that The X Factor will launch in America in 2011, with me judging the show and executive producing the show. Because of that this will be my last season on American Idol, this year. I want to leave Idol this year bigger and better than it’s ever been before. Having already done the auditions, it feels fresh, it feels relevant. I like the contestants this year. This final year for me feels different. I never would have wanted to walk out when the show was No. 21 in the ratings. You want to leave on a high. It’s been a fantastic time. We’re going to do something new. America needs a different type of show." That new show is "The X Factor" a competition which features four judges mentoring four groups of contestants - boys, girls, groups and over 25s. "It’s a big, big production" Simon said. "There is no upper age limit on X Factor and groups are allowed to enter. We gave ourselves time to set it up. It gives us time to work out who the judging panel will be". One possibly for a judge is Paula Abdul, who left Idol last season. "I’m doing X Factor in America because I believe I can find someone incredibly talented through this process,” Simon continued. “This country, thank God, has got thousands and thousands of people still waiting to be discovered. I want to find a star at the end, I genuinely do".

Are you sad Simon is leaving "Idol"? Excited about "X Factor"? Leave a comment and share your thoughts!

"The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love" Episode One Recap: Ten Women Eliminated

Last night ABC debuted the new season of "The Bachelor" starring airline pilot Jake Pavelka. The season started out as it always does, with long lingering shots of a shirtless "Bachelor". Once that was over with (or when it disappointingly ended, depending on your viewpoint) we were introduced to the 25 women competing for Jake's heart. At least I think they were all women, a few may have been trannys. The bachelorettes pulled out all the stops to make a good first impression on Jake. From speaking Cambodian to giving him a peacock feather to booping Jake's nose, the women were all on their game. That is everyone except for the woman who tripped and fell when she exited the limo. At the cocktail party some women seemed semi-normal (Ali, Ella, Tenley) while others...not so much (Ashley and her flight attendant costume). Later, Jillian and Ed stopped by to give the girls a grilling. Jake ended up giving the first impression rose to Tenley, the woman with the squeaky voice. At the rose ceremony Jake said goodbye to ten women, including Elizabeth the Air National Guard captain and Shelia the commercial pilot. One woman he did keep though, was Michelle the woman who broke down in tears and wasn't well received by Jillian and Ed. Fifteen women remain and move on to get to know Jake better!

Here's this week's "Diaries of the Departed"...
